Duration: 35-45 minutes
Reversal™ toolset comes with a carrying case and single write-on wipe-off metallised game board.
Reversal™ requires a team to make really efficient use of their individual skills and the limited time available to them to solve a problem.
The exercise requires the team to collect and then use a large volume of visual information to prepare a complex diagram. Some individuals will find the task much easier than others, so identifying ability and confidence is fundamental to building a successful plan.
The task requires absolute clarity of goals and individual responsibilities. It demands that individuals complete specific parts of a joint task and that they are fully briefed and supported in what they have to do.
Reversal™ requires the active involvement of all team members, whatever their levels of confidence or perceived ability. It therefore demands sensitivity to each other and a willingness to admit to uncertainty or error. This requires a 'learning culture' to be established in which there is no place for blame.
Teams must agree a process, follow that process precisely but be prepared to modify it or abandon it entirely if better solutions emerge.
The exercise also demands a high degree of co-ordination and control and is therefore excellent for demonstrating supervisory or task leadership skills.
Reversal™ highlights how information is gathered, stored, exchanged and shared in organisations. It encourages participants to explore the effectiveness of their personal and team information management systems and to consider how minor changes may improve effectiveness.
Reversal™ is ideal for groups of between 6 and 12 particpants. The exercise should typically last for 35 minutes *excluding review)
