Duration: 1/2 day
Recycling – We’re All Responsible
Suitable for:
Everyone in the workforce.
Programme overview:
Waste costs businesses money, both in un-used and under-used material, and in waste disposal and landfill costs. In addition organisations are being urged to reduce their carbon footprint and increase their recycling. The purpose of this half-day session is to raise delegates’ awareness of the importance of minimising waste, and reusing and recycling materials wherever possible. It will show them that everyone is responsible and everyone has a part to play. During the session delegates will:
— discuss why minimising and recycling waste is important
— identify what they waste at work
— explore best practice in re-using materials
— explore best practice in re-cycling materials
— identify how they can each minimise and recycle waste
— commit to personal actions
The session takes a commonsense approach to waste minimisation, and reusing and recycling materials. It focuses delegates on practical ways in which they can help the organisation save money and improve its environmental performance.
Content:
The programme is interactive and discussion based, allowing delegates to identify those items and materials which are often discarded without thought, and prompting them to suggest ways in which they can instead be re-use and recycled.
